The Bride Guide Part One - You've got the proposal

So they did it, they finally did it. You knew this day would come but you had no idea when and how and it was everything you ever wished for. For some, you've planned your dream wedding years back, every detail has been stencilled out intricately, you know the venue, time of year you'd like to marry, who your Bridal party will consist of and ultimately the budget you have to facilitate the wedding of your dreams. But for others, it's just the beginning and welcome. Step by step I will be here to guide you along the way on the simplistic, stress-free path to planning your special day and I come with one piece of advice today which is to enjoy this moment. It's normally only on Birthdays and festive gatherings you have your nearest and dearest around you. Plan an engagement party, celebrate this moment! The average time-spam from engagement to wedding day is around 15 months so let's enjoy it now and remember this moment for it's own magic!

Here are some top tips to planning the most epic engagement party.

• Get a good guest list together and remember; Just because they're coming to the engagement party doesn't necessarily mean they're on your final wedding guest list.

• Find a fun venue, most bars these days have private spaces you can corner off or a room you can reserve. Host it at home if you have the headspace to facilitate. I always find a nice venue with music and space to natter is always fun.

• Wear the white if you want to - Go on..... tease yourself with that Bridal look.

• I'm a sucker for seeing a love story unfold, print off a timeline and frame pictures of you both over the months and years to one on your engagement.

• Create and bespoke his and hers Cocktail for the occassion. Explain why it's your favourite, it could be a drink you had on your first date or there's a funny story behind it.

• Enlist a photographer to capture the event - This could be a great opportunity to meet your dream wedding photographer if you do have an inkling of someone you'd like to use or find an amazing photobooth.
